“We are thrilled to offer a 20-show line-up this season with the programming diversity that you’ve come to expect at the Glema Center,” said Toby Roberts, Director of Programs. “From a full symphony to bluegrass to pop music and four Tony Award-winning plays and musicals, there is truly something for everyone. We’ve made our popular MCC Singers concerts free to the public, and admission to many of our events is free to students! Our goal is to make the arts available to all.”

The Center Stage lineup, sponsored by the Hopkins County Tourist & Convention Commission, the City of Madisonville, the Enduring Legacy of Mrs. Glema Mahr, and Old National Bank, includes an evening of iconic television theme music live by the Owensboro Symphony, American Idol Season 21 winner Iam Tongi, Larry, Steve, & Rudy – The Gatlin Brothers, 7 Bridges: The Ultimate Eagles Experience, Sons of Mystro, and The Ozark Mountain Daredevils. The Glema’s US Bank Family Series is sure to be a hit with all ages with The Children’s Nutcracker and iLuminate.

The Glema Mahr Chamber Music Series presents violinist Eunice Kim, classical guitarist Jason Vieaux, pianist Wynona Wang, and the Eykamp String Quartet. The Evelyn & David Smart Coffeehouse Series features “The American Songster” Dom Flemons, jazz/pop/folk group Small Time Napoleon, multi-instrumentalist Monte Skelton and Friends, and eclectic foursome The Third Wheels.

First United Bank & Trust’s Proud Partnership brings Hopkins County Schools’ productions of Annie and Disney’s The Little Mermaid,and Community Theatre presents a winter weekend of dinner theatre with Blithe Spirit and then The Sound of Music as the summer musical. The season rounds out with two Special Events sponsored by Douglas & Janet Berry and offered to the community with free admission: The MCC Singers Community Christmas and The MCC Singers & MNHHS Choir present The Rutter Requiem.

The majority of the events in the 2024-25 Season offer discounted youth tickets. The Chamber Music Series remains free for students, and two of the Center Stage performances—Owensboro Symphony and Sons of Mystro—offer free student tickets with purchase of adult admission. There are no added fees, whether ticket purchases are made at the box office or online.

“Our season is also full of non-ticketed community events,” added Roberts. “You can follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the most current information about those.”

As in previous years, a Season Package that includes entry to all ticketed events is available at a 25% discount. A new Flex Package is being offered for 2024-25, allowing patrons to build their own season consisting of 7 to 19 ticketed performances at a 15% discount.

Season package sales start Monday, July 22. Single tickets sales start Monday, July 29. Tickets may be purchased in person, by phone at 270-821-2787, or online at glemacenter.universitytickets.com. Ticket Office hours are 10-4, Monday through Thursday in July and 10-4, Monday–Friday beginning August 1.

Conductor Troy Quinn and the Owensboro Symphony are bringing the best of classic television to the stage! Audiences will enjoy a wide array of music made famous by favorite TV shows, including themes from The Simpsons, Downton Abbey, Dallas, Star Trek, sports, game shows, and more. This toe-tapping performance will be fun for all ages!

Larry, Steve, & Rudy – The Gatlin Brothers – Saturday, September 28, 2024, 7 P.M.

Larry, Steve, and Rudy, The Gatlin Brothers, have dazzled audiences for more than sixty-nine years, performing in venues all over the world from the Grand Ol’ Opry to Carnegie Hall. Singing together since the ages of 7, 4, and 2, they’ve accrued a lifetime of noteworthy achievements in their storybook career including a Grammy for Best Country Song (“Broken Lady”), ACM awards for Single of the Year (“All The Gold In California”), Album of the Year (Straight Ahead), and a string of #1 Singles and Top 40 Records.

Iam Tongi – Saturday, October 19, 2024, 7 P.M.

Iam Tongi had audiences tearing up from the moment he started singing “Monster” by James Blunt, a moving tribute to his father that became a viral sensation along his journey to winning Season 21 of American Idol. The quiet yet powerful maturity in his voice, his beautiful rasp, and a light island influence permeates every note in every song he sings, invariably taking listeners on an emotional journey.

7 Bridges: The Ultimate EAGLES Experience. – Saturday, February 1, 2025, 7 P.M.

7 Bridges: The Ultimate EAGLES Experience is a stunningly accurate tribute to the music of the Eagles, faithfully recreating the experience of an Eagles concert from the band’s most prolific period. Rolling Stone called 7 Bridges “The Best Eagles tribute band on Earth!”

Sons of Mystro – Thursday, February 27, 2025, 7 P.M.

Brothers Malcom and Umoja learned to play violin through South Florida’s public school system, attended a performing arts high school, and now perform as Sons of Mystro. Accompanied by a DJ and a drummer, they use their violins to interpret reggae classics, American pop songs, and their own creations.

Ozark Mountain Daredevils – Friday, April 25, 2025, 7 P.M.
Tickets: $36(main floor front)/$28 (main floor rear & balcony)

The Ozark Mountain Daredevils have been aptly described as “a ragtag collection of hippies, bohemians, and musicians of no fixed ambition.” They have always been indefinable in terms of music genres, producing sounds of country-rock and electric bluegrass all on the same record, writing lyrics both whimsical and poetic, and singing spine-tingling harmonies.

The Children’s Nutcracker presented by The Children’s Center for Dance Education Thursday, December 5, 2024, 6:30 P.M.

The Children’s Center for Dance Education and local dancers celebrate this timeless Holiday Classic. Founded in 1995, CCDE has forged a new model for a ballet organization through innovative programming, artistic excellence, and extensive community outreach. John Rutter’s “Requiem” is a modern classic in choral music. The MCC Singers, the Madisonville Community Chorus, the MNHHS Chamber Choir, a live chamber orchestra, and featured soloist Dr. Sara Adams will combine for a night of stunning choral music unlike anything these choirs have done before.

Eunice Kim, violin ∙ Thursday, September 5, 2024, 7 P.M.
A young artist with a unique voice, violinist Eunice Kim has been proclaimed “just superb” by The New York Times. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, the award-winning violinist has been featured soloist with many ensembles including The Philadelphia Orchestra, Louisville Orchestra, and the Albany Symphony Orchestra. Her creative work includes time with Ensemble39, a contemporary quintet of strings and winds devoted to commissioning new music and pushing the boundaries of the concert experience.

Jason Vieaux, guitar ∙ Monday, October 14, 2024, 7 P.M.
Grammy-winner Jason Vieaux is described by NPR as “perhaps the most precise and soulful classical guitarist of his generation.” In appearances from New York’s Lincoln Center to Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and the Seoul Arts Center, he has cemented his reputation as a brilliant artist of uncompromised mastery. He is hailed as “virtuosic, flamboyant, dashing and, sometimes ineffably lyrical” (New York Times) on stage.

Wynona Wang, piano ∙ Friday, February 21, 2025, 7 P.M.
Chinese pianist Wynona Wang was selected as First Prize winner of the 2018 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, the latest in a series of impressive first prize performances, along with the 2017 Wideman International Piano Competition in Louisiana. Wynona was also awarded the Juilliard School’s 2022 Rubenstein Prize, as well as the 2019 Charlotte White Career Grant awarded by the Salon de Virtuosi in New York City.

Eykamp String Quartet ∙ Saturday, April 12, 2025, 7 P.M.
Members of the Eykamp String Quartet serve as principal string players of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, as Artists in Residence at the University of Evansville, and as educational ambassadors. The Eykamp String Quartet is made possible by the special underwriting of Rita, Richard and Dorothy Eykamp, friends of the University of Evansville, and the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra.

Dom Flemons ∙ Saturday, September 21, 2024, 7 P.M.
“The American Songster” Dom Flemons has a repertoire covering over one hundred years of American roots music, including country, folk, bluegrass, Americana, and the blues. Flemons is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music scholar, historian, actor, slam poet, record collector, podcaster, and the creator, host, and producer of the American Songster Radio Show. He is considered an expert player on a variety of instruments including the banjo, guitar, harmonica, and jug, and is the co-founder of the Carolina Chocolate Drops.

Small Time Napoleon ∙ Friday, November 22, 2024, 7 P.M.
Small Time Napoleon is the combination of new ideas and old sounds. Their interest in the jazz standards of the swing-era shine through in their voices, writing, and playing, while their ear for new sounds and ideas constantly drives them forward. The product of this pairing is what Kyle Ware of Insider Louisville has called “a mad science blend of western swing, hot jazz and folk.”

Monte Skelton & Friends ∙ Saturday, January 25, 2025, 7 P.M.
For Monte Skelton, music is a way of life.  Whether he is performing live or composing an album, it’s very likely there’s an instrument nearby that he can play quite well. The University of Evansville alumni is a music educator at Evansville Music Academy and performs throughout the Midwestern United States. Along with recording, mixing, mastering and producing multiple solo albums, Monte also has performed with the legendary group The Temptations and jazz vocalist Sherrie Bias.

The Third Wheels ∙ Saturday, March 29, 2025, 7 P.M.
The Third Wheels defy categorization with their eclectic blend of jazz, bossa nova, rock, blues, and country influences. Band members Brent Webster (guitar), Kala Dunn (vocals and flute), Dean Hughes (drums), and Scott Thile (bass) push musical boundaries with their heartfelt performances of new compositions and creative takes on classic favorites.

Hopkins County Schools Joint High School Production – Annie
Friday November 15, 2024, 7 P.M. ∙ Saturday, November 16, 2024, 2 & 7 P.M.
With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a NYC Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the orphanage, and in adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations and finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

The beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. She strikes a deal with the evil sea witch to trade her tail for legs in order to pursue Prince Eric, but the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends—Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull, and Sebastian the crab—to restore order under the sea.
