Originally from South Carolina, Dawn Connerley earned her Bachelor of Arts from Francis Marion University in 2000. She moved to Kentucky in the fall of 2001 to work as a production intern for Lexington Children’s Theatre, where she built numerous sets and designed countless props, eventually earning the title of Technical Director.
Dawn then worked at Berea College for four years prior to enrolling in graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts in Technical Direction in 2014. Upon graduation, Dawn was hired as the Technical Director for the Woodford Theatre in Versailles, Kentucky, where she served for nine seasons. Among her favorite sets that she designed while there were Seussical Jr., Finding Nemo Jr., and Barefoot in the Park.
Dawn is excited to utilize her 20+ years of experience in Technical Direction as she begins a new chapter at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts.
