
Auditions: The Sound of Music (ages 16 and up)

Auditions for Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 31 and June 1, 2025 at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts on the campus of Madisonville Community College in Madisonville, Kentucky.
Auditions will be divided according to age group (under 16, and 16 and up).
Saturday, May 31, 1:00 p.m.: Auditions for anyone who has completed 2nd grade and is under the age of 16.
Saturday, May 31, 6:00 p.m.: Auditions for anyone age 16 and up.
Sunday, June 1, 2:00 p.m.: Auditions for anyone age 16 and up.
Sunday, June 1, evening: Callbacks if needed.
THE STORY: One of the most beloved musicals of all time! In Austria, 1938, an exuberant young governess brings music and joy back to a broken family, only to face danger and intrigue as the Nazis gain power.
The performances are July 11-13, 2025, at the Glema Center. Regularly scheduled rehearsals will begin June 2. The casting calls for performers of all vocal ranges.
Those auditioning should prepare a monologue of no more than 60 seconds and memorize one of the songs linked to the audition web page at GlemaCenter.org > Community > Auditions: The Sound of Music. The song auditioned with will not impact which roles for which each person is considered. This production will be directed by Jamie Moss, and music director will be Liam Coursey.
