Performances February 14, 15, and 16, 2025
Auditions for the Glema Center’s 2024-25 Season community dinner theatre production were held at the beginning of December, and the cast of Blithe Spirit, a comedic play by Noël Coward, was announced shortly thereafter.
Syd Tate plays Charles Condomine, a charming, successful novelist who is haunted by the spirit of his first wife, Elvira; this carefree but manipulative “blithe spirit” is played by Sarah Curtis. Maureen Berry plays Ruth Condomine, Charles’s no-nonsense second wife. The eccentric medium who summons Elvira during a séance—Madame Arcati—is played by Jamie Moss. Dinner guests Dr. and Mrs. Bradman, played by Peyton Adams and Laura Cobb, and the newly employed, nervous maid Edith, played by Erin Wilson, round out the cast. This production is directed by Liam Coursey and stage managed by Brandi Jones.
Blithe Spirit will be presented at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts on Friday, February 14 at 7:00 pm; Saturday, February 15 at 7:00 pm; and Sunday, February 16 at 2:00 pm. Two ticketing options are available for each showtime: dinner and the play, or play only. Dinner is provided by Catering and Creations, and will be served in the Anne P. Baker Gallery one hour prior to each performance. Play seating will be in the auditorium. Guests interested in dinner tickets are encouraged to reserve early, as dinner tickets are limited.
The Glema Mahr Center for the Arts is located on the campus of Madisonville Community College at 2000 College Drive, Madisonville, Kentucky 42431. Tickets and information are available at 270-821-2787 and at GlemaCenter.org.
