MCC Singers Set to Resume Rehearsals

January 21, 2025

Madisonville, KY – December 26, 2024 – The MCC Singers will resume rehearsals in January in preparation for their spring concert. This comes after a short break following their widely attended and well-received Community Christmas Concert at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts earlier this month.

New singers are always welcome at the beginning of each rehearsal cycle, according to Dr. Bill Thomas, MCC Singers Director. There is no audition for the choral ensemble, which is open to community members in high school and up, and non-music-readers are welcome.

The first rehearsal of 2025 is Tuesday, January 21, at 5:30 p.m. New and returning singers will meet in room C-90 in the John H. Gray Building on the campus of Madisonville Community College. Regular rehearsals are held on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. throughout the season.

The MCC Singers will combine with the MNHHS Chamber Choir and a live chamber orchestra to perform John Rutter’s “Requiem” for their spring concert, which is scheduled for Friday, May 2, at 7:00 p.m. at the Glema Center. Concert admission is free, and no ticket is required.
